Due to Oklahoma's stringent ballot access laws, the Libertarian Party is not allowed on the ballot, nor are you able to register as a Libertarian. The only way for the LP to gain ballot access is by petition.
Below you'll find links to two printable PDF's. The first is a form for collecting signatures for the petition. It must be printed on 8.5" by 11" paper and landscape orientation (should print just fine as opened). The second contains the same guidelines posted below the links.
Guidelines for Petition Gatherers
- Petition gatherers do not need to be registered with the state or anyone else. You may simply download a petition form and start gathering signatures.
- All petition signers must be registered voters in the state of Oklahoma.
- Petition signers must fill out all spaces on the form.
- All petition signatures on any single page of the petition must be by people from the county listed at the top of the page. (Petitioners should fill in the county name themselves. Please spell county names properly.) Petition signatures will be validated by the county election board whose name is at the top of the form. If someone signs the wrong county’s form, that signature will be thrown out.
- If someone is not sure what county he or she lives in – and it happens, sometimes – you can have them sign a new, blank petition form then look up their correct county later, based on their city and/or street address. Better to do this than have them sign on a form for the wrong county and have the signature thrown out.
- You can make as many photocopies of the petition form as you need.
